U.S. Highway 2 Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting
The Ashland Area Chamber would like to invite everyone to attend the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the New U.S. Hwy 2, Friday, November 14th at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park (Band Shell). Tickets for the annual “Christmas Cash Raffle” sponsored by the Ashland Chamber are now on sale. Stop in or call the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce to get your tickets. Prizes will be awarded in Chamber Dollars every day during the month of December. Chamber Dollars are used the same as cash at Chamber Member Businesses. Monday through Friday, prizes are worth $50.00 each day. Saturday $75.00 and Sunday $100. December 6th, Christmas Parade Day the drawing will be worth $125.00. Christmas Day there will be two drawings worth $500.00 each. New Years Eve Day there will be two drawings worth $175.00 each. Every time a name is drawn it will be returned to the barrel for another chance to win. Daily Winners will be posted on the Marquee at Superior Choice Credit Union on Ellis Ave., as well as posted in the Ashland Chamber Window.

The 46th Annual Garland City of the North Christmas Parade is December 6th at 4:30 p.m. on Historic Main Street, Ashland. This Year’s theme is “The Songs and Sounds of Christmas”. Wow!!!! What great weather for the 11th Annual CenturyTel WhistleStop Marathon/Half Marathon. The race went off quite smoothly. With close to 2400 runners in the full and half and an additional 500 runners in the 5 & 10 K race it was just amazing at how smooth things went. Thank you to all the Volunteers and to the many runners who came in to Ashland for the race. If you have stories to share with us please post them on this blog!
