Congratulation to “Vocal Effect” on winning the Ashland’s Got Talent Show during Bay Days, July 18th. All the talent was superb!! Vocal Effect is made up of 4 High School Boys, Joe Weber, Drew Emmert, Brandon Blaskowski and Garret Tutland who just graduated and will be going on to college. They did a great job performing for Bay Days. A special Thank You to all the performers for aduditioning and performing for Ashland’s Got Talent. Great Job  to all the performers!!! Oh! and wasn’t the Polka Band Awesome???

The Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce presents; Ashland Bay Days, July 16th through the 18th at Bayview Park across from Pamida. There will be Arts and Crafts and Food Vendors all weekend. Look for great entertainment including: Badge and Acoustic Relapse on Fri Night, Bay Area Battle of the Bands on Saturday Night, Northland Lumberjack Choir, Dixieland Band, Chequamegon Bay Band, 4 His Majesty Quartette and Ashland’s Got Talent on Sunday. The kids will love the 4-H Activities Tent and the Coloring Contest (the coloring contest is open to ages 2-12). Toddlers will join the Toddler Run (open to ages 2-4), Big Wheel Race, Kid’s Say the Darn’dest Things and more. There is still time to register for the MudRutter’s Off Road Bike Race, the 3on3 Basketball Tournament, the Chequamegon Bay Sprint Triathlon, the Cardboard Boat Races, Waitress & Waiter Relays, or the Pie Eating Contest open to ages 3 through Adult. New this year is “Bam Bam on the Bay” during the Strongest Man on the Bay Contest. This should be so fun watching the little weight lifters! What a great event on Madeline Island and LaPointe this past Saturday, June 19th. Apostle Islands Inline Marathon/Half Marathon and Mad Fun Skate was a lot of fun and a great day for skating. Racers loved this event sponsored by the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce. Skate the Skate!!! Glide on In!!! Heading Home on Wheels!!! Just a few of the sayings you would hear as the skaters crossed the finish line during the 1st Annual Apostle Islands Inline Marathon/Half Marathon. If you were a skater in this event, let us know how you liked this event!!!

Look for temperatures to start warming up on Thursday of this week. Just in time for the Apostle Islands Inline Marathon/Half Marathon and the Mad Fun Skate on Madeline Island, Saturday, June 19th, sponsored by the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce. There is still time to register for this event. The course is premo! The view is fantastic and this fully supported race will be one you will talk about for years to come! All 4^th of July celebrations will take place on Sunday, July 4^th. The parade will start at 12Noon on Historic Main Street. The Ice Cream Social will be 11am -2pm on the Court House lawn. Stipes Carnival will be in Ashland near the Bay Area Civic Center July 1^st through the 4^th. The Historical Society Museum Cemetery Walk will be at Mount Hope at 2pm. Relay for Life is June 11th and 12th and has been moved to the Bay Area Civic Center due to possible storms in the forecast for Fri. Everything starts at 6pm Friday. Enjoy the festival atmosphere with a dance, games, food, speakers, and much more. You can join others in the walk or just sit back and enjoy this great event and fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, Ashland and Bayfield County.
